Tanning Bed Bulbs and their Lifespan

Are you looking to buy tanning beds? If so, you have to be concerned with the kind of bulb that it is equipped with. The life of a tanning bed depends on its bulb. The bed’s full functionality is also determined by its bulb. With non-functional bulbs, tanning beds are worthless. So more than the durability and the style of the tanning bed you’d like to buy, you should also consider the lifespan of its tanning bed bulbs and where you can possibly have them replaced once they burn out.

Often times, the lifespan of tanning bed bulbs are measured in hours. The good ones have up to 1,000 and 800 hours lifespan. If you are shopping for tanning beds, ask about the estimated duration of the bulbs. Then try to compute how long the bulb would last for your personal use. How long do you intend to stay inside the tanning bed in a day? One hour should do. Are you going to share the tanning bed with others? If so, the bulb may burn out faster than you have expected. Take these things into consideration when buying tanning beds and you should be able to estimate the time you need to replace your bulb, more or less.

If you happen to have the 1,000 hour bulb, you should have a spare ready once you reach the bulb’s 800th hour mark. This way, you will be ensured of a non-stop operation of your tanning bed. It is also advisable to change the bulb after you have used 80% of its lifespan. Tanning bed bulbs tend to decrease in functionality later on in its lifespan. If your bulb is at the risk of burning out, it is best that you get somebody to have it replaced for you.

There are also bulbs for use only for the facial areas. If your tanning bed has multiple bulbs installed, check if you have a bulb that is directed to the head. These bulbs tend to burn faster than the regular ones used for the rest of the body parts. So for a 1,000 hour life expectancy, you have to change this one after its 700th hour.

You have to be careful with your choice of tanning bed bulbs. Never settle for anything less because you don’t want to end up changing bulbs very often. A tanning bed that doesn’t need much maintenance is always the best.
